She is known for her role as April Carver in the 2014-2015 ABC Family television show Chasing Life, and for being the White House Chief of Staff and Special Advisor Emily Rhodes in the television drama series Designated Survivor from 2016 to 2019.During 2009, Ricci began appearing in American productions that featured small parts in How I Met Your Mother, House, and Greek. In the same year, Ricci appeared in a regular role in the role of Sasha in Secret Girlfriend on Comedy Central. In 2010, she was a guest in Unnatural History on Cartoon Network as Maggie Winnock.
