Adele

AdeleAdkins was the daughter of a single mother of just a few years who was raised in various working class London neighborhood. When she was a kid, she enjoyed singing pop songs of the day and was taught how to play the guitar and the clarinet. It wasn't until her teens when she was introduced to Etta James, a rhythm-and-blues singer, as well as other performers in the late 20th century and she began to consider about a future career in music. She was attending an elementary school for visual and performing arts, which was funded by the federal government. A friend posted songs Adkins had written on Myspace. Her music eventually caught the attention of recording labels and, in 2006, just a few months after graduation she signed a deal with XL Recordings.
