Carey who's 5'10" tall, was once a leading American models for fashion. Designers of the top calibre, including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren liked her. Her father, a distinguished scientist who received the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists' 1979 Scientist of the Year award is a highly respected scientist. The father of Carey was a geologist who traveled around the world as part of his professional career. When she was a student at in the University of Colorado, Carey started modeling for a side. The Ford's model agency in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. In 1980, she moved to France for a brief period of time, and lived in Paris as well as Bordeaux and then returned in New York in order to pursue the modeling profession. She appeared on Vogue as well as Glamour pages. In between modeling assignments she was enrolled in literature full time during her time at New York University. As time passed, she was drawn to acting, and began studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Her acting debut came through a tiny part in the film 'Club Paradise" in 1986, starring Robin Williams. She enjoys rock climbing, skiing, and windsurfing.
